At Haagseveer in the center of Rotterdam, Chris van Steenbergen and her husband Martijn Lenselink run Wijnlokaal. For years, it has been a cozy wine shop where you can buy and taste wonderful wines. With each glass, Chef Chris serves a delicious dish! Both the wine and the food are as pure, natural, and directly sourced from farmers as possible. Just the way we like it!
💚🎨 Martijn comes from the wine world, and Chris has been raised with a strong emphasis on local, nature-inclusive, and seasonal cooking. The pure flavor of vegetables is always central, and cooking never follows a fixed recipe.

Our guests and customers have already had the chance to meet the wines in our store and in our aperitif bar. Now there’s an opportunity to meet the people behind the wine. Thomas Fròhlich and his wife Andrea will be with us at Haagseveer on October 26 and 27, where they, together with the team from LenselinQ, will organize a special Meet the Winemaker event.
Thomas and Andrea run their winery in Franconia. This South German region is often considered dull on the map. However, in recent decades, there has been a lot of innovation, and some winemakers, like Ilmbacher Hof, don’t include the word “boring” in their vocabulary. Thomas produces wines that are pure, clean, and exciting without losing the identity of their region.
